Click

In a brief period of wakefullness this morning around 7.30 I caught Click, the BBC’s short programme on technology.  It featured a report on Schools of the Future - a Microsoft sponsored project in a deprived area of Philidelphia and an interview with Bill Gates on how he sees the future of technology in education.  You can see the reports again on the Click website.

Art in Lego

vettriano-lego.jpgmona-lisa-lego.jpgWhen we went to the Louvre on our S3 trip to Paris in June I got separated from my group.  We were heading towards the Mona Lisa and got a bit lost.  I met them on their way back from the Mona Lisa - “don’t go and see it Miss, it’s boring”, thus they dismissed this work of art.  Wonder if they would prefer this version in lego, one of many on this flickr stream from Udronotto - featuring a lot of his own work as well as these lego versions of art, it also features an homage to Jack Vettriano.

On my way to Falkirk today, the Jeremy Vine show had just started and they were going to be discussing this story.  Oxford University are looking at students’ Facebook pages for photos to use as evidence that they have been involved in “unruly end of term of term pranks”.  Unfortunately I didn’t hear the subsequent discussion, but was remembering a discussion with some seniors at the end of term who seemed a bit shocked that prospective employers might google them to see what their pages on MySpace etc had to say about them.

Ne le dis A personne

The French thriller “Tell No One” is well named - despite having read and heard great reviews of this film I could only find one cinema showing it - almost as though it was a secret.  Driving in Edinburgh is always an adventure for me, but I found the Cineworld at Fountainbridge relatively easily.

Would definitely recommend this film (in French with subtitles), which has a great chase sequence through Paris - it’s still showing in Edinburgh for another couple of days.
